A celebration of the song cycle, from Beethoven to today. This intimate afternoon of music begins with Beethoven’s An die ferne Geliebte, continues through iconic cycles by Wagner and Mahler and concludes with Philip Sawyers’ searing meditation on the outbreak of World War I, Songs of Loss and Regret.
