Join us for an evening of food, wine, music, and our MahlerFest 38 Season Announcement. 

Enjoy dinner and wine at a sleek, contemporary home in central Boulder adorned with beautiful artwork while MahlerFest Principal Trumpet Daniel Kelly and pianist Libby Vanatta perform a wide variety of music joined by Artistic Director Kenneth Woods. Between music and food, Maestro Woods will offer a first look at the programming for MahlerFest 38 (May 14-18, 2025) and explain how he curated the upcoming season.

 

Featured ArtistsFestival Artist Daniel Kelly, a native of Charleston, SC, is associate professor of trumpet at Texas A&M University-Commerce. He joined the A&M-Commerce faculty in the fall of 2010 after serving on the faculty of Indiana State University and the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Kelly is a founding member of The Ambassador Brass Quintet, which has presented concerts and workshops in the US, Thailand, Vietnam, and China. More recently, Dr. Kelly has presented recitals and master classes at the Campina Grande International Music Festival (Brazil) and Shenzen Conservatory (China). He is principal trumpet of the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria.

Libby Vanatta, a native of Middle Tennessee, joined the music faculty at Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2010. She currently oversees the piano pedagogy degrees, coordinates the class piano curriculum, and serves as director of the Piano Academy at TAMUC. Vanatta won the TAMUC Collegiate Chapter Advisor of the Year in 2016 from the TAMUC Student Organization Activities Committee. Ms. Vanatta has presented at the 2019 Texas Music Teachers Association state conference on the importance of musicianship skills in the teaching of repertoire, at the Music Teachers National Association Collegiate Chapters Piano Pedagogy Symposium as moderator for the networking sessions on grad school (2019) and independent teaching (2020), as part of the 2019 Tau Beta Sigma’s Women in Music lecture series, and at the 2013 TMTA state conference along with Luis Sanchez on the versatility of using duets to teach other piano skills.
