Bassoonist Sarah Fish is principal bassoon of Boulder Symphony and an active orchestral and chamber musician. She has soloed with the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra, where the Delaware Gazette described her performance as having “…a sweet tone and astounding technical facility…”
Sarah has performed with Crested Butte Summer Classics Series, Cheyenne Symphony, Ft. Collins Symphony, Greeley Philharmonic, Steamboat Symphony, Arapahoe Philharmonic, and South Dakota Symphony. She also enjoys opera and ballet, performing with Boulder Opera, Opera Fort Collins, Loveland Opera Theatre, and the World Ballet Company.
Sarah lives in Louisville, CO with her husband Ben and works as an Engineering Operations Program Manager for a global cybersecurity company. When not bassooning or helping protect the world from cyberattacks, she enjoys running and traveling to multi-day destination running adventures which have taken her through remote regions of Spain, Costa Rica, and Morocco.
Sarah earned a Bachelor of Music from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master of Music from the University of Minnesota, studying under John Miller, Jr. of the Minnesota Orchestra. She has been playing with MahlerFest since 2016.
