The event is full!
Leave the city behind with a slow-paced, uplifting hike in our nearby foothills. From Flatirons to falcons to forests, naturalist Suzanne Michot will introduce you to the wildlife, plants, geology, and history of Boulder’s treasured trails. On this particular hike, Suzanne will focus on the beautiful spring wildflowers!
Symposium speaker Jeremy Barham will join the group to address the theme of MahlerFest 37, Mahler & the Mountains. He will offer information about Mahler’s connection to the natural world and how it influenced him as a man and a composer.
For newcomers, visitors and locals, this hike is a terrific way to get acquainted with Open Space and Mountain Parks. You’ll leave this program with a better appreciation for nature and the unique OSMP program as well as a better understanding about the role of the natural world in Mahler’s life.
The hike will be 2-3 miles depending on the pace of the group. The trails are mostly smooth except for a few rocky areas.
