Since completing his Masters of Music at CU-Boulder in 2002, Ethan Hecht has cultivated careers as both a performing musician and nonprofit administrator. As a performing musician, Mr. Hecht is currently the principal violist of the Fort Collins Symphony with whom he appeared as a soloist in 2014. Mr. Hecht has also worked “behind the curtain” with many nonprofit organizations. He is currently the orchestra librarian for the Fort Collins Symphony and was formerly the Executive Director of the Boulder Chorale. Previously, Mr. Hecht spent 14 years with the Colorado Music Festival and Center for Musical Arts where he began as Orchestra Personnel Manager and finished as the Director of the organization’s community music school in Lafayette. He has also served as the Orchestra Manager of the Pro Musica Colorado Chamber Orchestra and has consulted with several Boulder County nonprofit organizations. As a volunteer, Mr. Hecht was chair of the Lafayette Public Library Advisory Board for two years and served on the board a total of six years.
Mr. Hecht lives in Lafayette with his wife, a social worker and yoga teacher, and their daughter who is a musical theater actress (Annie and Christmas Story at BDT Stage, Oliver at Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, and Into the Woods at CenterStage Theatre Company). Together they enjoy making and listening to music, cooking, hiking, skiing, and camping.
