Joshua DeVane
Joshua DeVane, baritone, moved to the Boulder area in 2015. A native of South Georgia, he has performed a wide variety of vocal repertoire all over the United States. Specializing in opera and song literature from the 20th century and beyond, Mr. DeVane takes great pleasure in performing the works of Mahler. Mr. DeVane’s recent operatic experience includes roles with CU’s Eklund Opera program, CU New Opera Workshop, Opera Fayetteville, Georgia Southern Opera, and Spotlight on Opera.
Joshua Horsch
Joshua Horsch is a conductor and pianist based in Boulder, Colorado. Joshua’s recent positions include Assistant Conductor/Pianist/Vocal Coach for Opera Saratoga’s 2015 and 2016 seasons, Assistant Conductor/Rehearsal Pianist for Fort Worth Opera, and Assistant/Cover Conductor for the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra. At the University of Colorado, Joshua served as Music Director/Pianist for the Opera Theatre Singers and Guest Conductor/Music Director for productions of Copland’s The Tender Land and Side by Side by Sondheim. Joshua’s other recent positions include Music Director/Conductor of the CU Boulder Campus Orchestra, Conductor/Pianist for the CU New Opera Workshop, Assistant Chorus Master for the Colorado Music Festival, Conductor/Pianist for the Newport Music Festival, and staff Music Director/Conductor for the Boston Opera Collaborative. Joshua’s guest and workshop conducting includes work with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Omaha Symphony, the Oregon Bach Festival Orchestra and Chorus, the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic, Boulder Bach Festival, and the Cabrillo Festival Orchestra.
In addition to performing in the vocal / chamber concert, Joshua is the Pianist-in-Residence for MahlerFest XXIX, participating in the conducting workshop and master class
Renée Hemsing Patten
Violinist Renée Hemsing Patten, a native of New Mexico, earned her Bachelor of Music from UNM under Dr. Cármelo de los Santos, and her Masters under Emanuel Borok and Cynthia Roberts (baroque violin) at the University of North Texas. Currently a doctoral candidate & teaching assistant to Charles Wetherbee at CU, Renée has studied with other renowned artists including Mark O’Connor, and Paul Kantor and David Halen and has performed across the United States & Europe. She currently teaches strings at Parlando School of Musical Arts.
Ryan Jacobsen
An accomplished violinist, conductor, and teacher, Ryan Jacobsen’s passion for music has taken him across the country. He has soloed with the Spokane Symphony, the Walla Walla Symphony, and the Whitman Symphony, and has performed with orchestras in Carnegie Hall, Benaroya Hall, and Boettcher Hall. Ryan lives in Boulder, Colorado, and teaches Suzuki violin lessons while completing his Masters of Music degree at the University of Colorado.
Stephanie Mientka
Ms. Mientka is an active orchestral, and chamber musician in the Denver area. She is a member of the Boulder Philharmonic, Colorado Ballet, and is a regular substitute for Colorado Symphony. Ms. Mientka is also an active chamber musician, and a founding member of the Deciduous Trio (flute, viola, harp), which performs regularly throughout the USA. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and her master’s degree from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.
Anne Ainomae
Anne Ainomäe (viola) was born and raised in Estonia. She is an avid chamber musician. Before moving to Denver, Anne was a member of Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and Prezioso String quartet. Her teachers include Basil Vendryes, Christian Euler, Juoko Mansnerus and Tõnu Reimann.
Andrew Brown
Cellist Andrew Brown is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in musical arts at The University of Colorado under the tutelage of David Requiro. Mr. Brown has a Bachelor of Business Administration – Finance – degree from The University of Iowa, Bachelor of Music from The University of Denver, and a Masters of Music in Cello Performance and Cello Suzuki Pedagogy from The Cleveland Institute of Music.
Trevor Minton
Trevor Minton, a graduate of University of Colorado-Boulder and University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is a cellist living in Boulder, CO. He is an active freelancer and performs regularly in Boulder and Denver. His principal mentors include Karen Becker, Judith Glyde, Thomas Heinrich, and David Requiro.
