Filmmaker Jason Starr recently premiered two new movies covering Symphony No. 1 and Songs of a Wayfarer (available on DVD in our store). While making these movies, Starr had access to some very unique sources in the collection of musicologist Henry-Louis de La Grange. In this video, Kenneth Woods and Starr use those sources as the starting point for a lively discussion.
The MahlerFest Chamber Orchestra performed Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer), arranged by Arnold Schoenberg, with baritone Joshua DeVane, at our last in-person festival in May 2019.
