Composer Kurt Schwertsik wowed MahlerFest audiences with his music and style as the visiting composer during MahlerFest XXIX. At the festival that year, the MahlerFest Orchestra performed Schwertsik’s Nachtmusiken.

Schwertsik celebrated his 85th birthday in June. Peter Davison, a regular presenter at the MahlerFest Symposium, celebrated the occasion. As part of the Mini Festival, this celebration will be available as both a video and an essay.
