The Scientific & Cultural Facilities District, Boulder County is part of a seven-county tax district, the only tax-based district in the USA devoted to the arts. A one-tenth of a percent sales tax helps support hundreds of large, medium and small arts and historical non-profit groups and individual artists.
The Boulder County Arts Alliance educates, supports and promotes artists and cultural organizations throughout Boulder County by:
  • Providing money, time, expertise and opportunities to the arts and cultural community.
  • Facilitating communication and cooperation among artists, audiences, and art agencies.
  • Acting as an advocate for arts and culture.
The mission of the Boulder Public Library is to enhance the personal and professional growth of Boulder residents and contribute to the development and sustainability of an engaged community through free access to ideas, information, cultural experiences and educational opportunities.
The Boulder Arts Commission of the Boulder City Council recognizes that arts education is a shared responsibility between the arts community and the education system and that arts play a critical role in education.
