MahlerFest is also sponsoring a free concert by the Boulder Youth Symphony and Chaconne on Tuesday, 11 January 2005, at 7:30 PM at the First Baptist Church, Boulder (on the northwest corner of 13th and Pine Streets). The program includes music of Khachaturian, Dvorak, Brahms, and three pieces based on music of Gustav Mahler. The Chaconne will perform "Mahler with a Twist," and the Chamber Symphony will perform the second movement from Mahler's Symphony No. 1 and the great Adagio finale of Mahler's Symphony No. 3. Photographs relating to Mahler and his family and friends will be on display in the foyer.
